66 – Sydney
Frank David Martin, 66 of Sydney, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, peacefully at home after a long illness, in the arms of his wife and daughter.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Heber and Rachael (Mahoney) Martin.
Frank was a retired Devco employee. In his younger years he excelled at hockey and baseball. “Grampie” was happiest when sitting around the campfire. He enjoyed watching his Leafs and the Blue Jays. Frank will be remembered as an honest, reliable and wise man who was a good friend to many.
He is survived by his wife, the former Trudy (Currie); daughters Lynn Larson (Allan Arkens), New Glasgow; Lois (Donnie) MacIntyre, Sydney; sisters Carol Ann (Arnold) Walsh; Sharon (Norman) Ingraham; Linda (Gary) McCallum; brothers Terry (Dianne MacLean); Paul (Jeannette); Wayne (Jean); Raymond (Glenda); Glen (Patricia) and grandchildren Megan and Michael Larsen and Brian and Brandon MacIntyre.
Visitation for the late Mr. Martin will take place on Thursday, June 12, 2014 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel from 6-9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Friday at St. Theresa’s Church with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating.
