With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our mother, Elizabeth Philomena (MacDonald) MacIntosh in her 86th year.
Born Nov. 25, 1923, in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Angus and Charlotte MacDonald. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She was survived by her three sons, William ‘Bill’ John (Bobbie), South Carolina, USA, Edward James, Fredericton, N.B., Roy Joseph, Sydney, N.S.; and two daughters, Shirley Ann MacLean (Gorden), Malagawatch, N.S., and Lorna Mae MacLean, Sydney, N.S. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Robert, Anna, Lorna, Donna, Todd, Brandy, Scott, Darryl and Kristal; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and extended family. Toots is also survived by her brother in-law, Roy MacIntosh (Ada), Ontario.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband, Edward Alexander MacIntosh, nine brothers, Joseph Cogswell, Jackie MacDonald, Bernard MacNeil, James MacDonald, Howard MacDonald, John MacDonald, Bernard MacDonald, Charles MacDonald and Angus MacDonald.
There will be visitation for Toots from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3 in T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church Cabot Street, Sydney, with Fr Conrad Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
