We the family announce with sadness in our hearts the sudden passing of our beloved Edward Daniel Morris, on Nov 17th, 2023. Born Aug 24, 1974 in Sydney, he was the son of George Morris and Phyllis Poulette.
Edward Daniel Morris had the biggest spirit and he had the biggest personality there wasn’t a time where he couldn’t make you laugh. He always had a joke for every situation he was in, he always made sure the people around him felt understood and always made sure to put a smile on your face when he was around you. He loved reading, writing and learning about new things. He enjoyed biking around his neighborhood, drawing and colouring from time to time he also loved going camping and having camp fires in his back yard. He loved swimming , snorkeling, fishing , having adventures, seadooing , boating, playing darts ,playing video games and making gaming videos for his YouTube channel. He loved singing and dancing to his favourite songs like no one was watching he loved going to powwows every chance he got. He was a drummer, singer and dancer. He was in a drum group named the Kitpu singers and always went powwow trailing with his drum brothers and daughter.
He definitely was a ladies man because he always had people crushing on him at every powwow he went to. Edward had a few jobs in his lifetime, he was a dispatcher for the unamaki police, worked in mental health (crisis centre) he was a home care worker, worked in Mic Mac family services and worked at the Cape Breton ability. He graduated at River View high school and he grew up in Eskasoni most of his life. He loved giving gifts for every holiday and birthdays, he always made sure the people he loved got their presents from him. He loved watching hockey and collecting hockey cards, he enjoyed going to baseball games, and he loved spending time with his brother Paul, daughter Bianca and nephew Andrew whenever he could. He loved making his own herbal medicines he loved his culture and traditions he was well respected by a lot of people in his community and recognized for many things by his family and many friends he had throughout his lifetime.
Daniel is survived by his daughter Bianca Morris, his parents George Morris and Phyllis Poulette, his siblings; Paul Gavin, Georgette Morris, and Joshua Morris. Daniel is also fondly remembered by his uncle James Morris, and aunts; Arlene Johnson, Mabel Morris, Cecilia Poulette, Louise Poulette, Mary Poulette, as well as aunt and godmother Vera Sylliboy. Daniel also leaves behind his nephew Andrew Morris.
Daniel is predeceased by his brother Carter Morris, aunts Annie Johnson and Janet Morris, and uncles and godfather Edmund Morris, Charlie Morris and Wilson Poulette.
Visitation for Daniel will begin on Tues, Nov 27th after 7pm at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wed, Nov 28th at 10:30am with Fr.
