Donald W. Curry, 90 passed away January 2, 2017 in Sydney, NS.
Born on September 4, 1926 in Sydney, he was the son of the late John and Margaret (Gillis) Curry of Sydney.
Don resided in Mulgrave for most of his life and was employed with the Government of Canada. After 33 years of service, he retired from the Coast Guard as superintendent of the Canso Canal. Over the years he sang in several choirs and in his retirement he enjoyed many hobbies including painting, stained glass, golf and photography.
He is survived by his daughter Pamela (Mark) Burt, daughter-in-law Rose Morrell, and granddaughter Alice; brothers John (Theresa) Curry and Father Gerald Curry along with several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Mildred Huntington and brother-in-law Cullen MacLeod.
Don was predeceased by his wife Alice (MacLeod), son Glenn, brothers Cecil and Francis and sisters Eleanor and Margaret ‘Peggy’.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. A memorial service will be held Friday, January 6 at 1:30 pm at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel with reception to follow. Burial will be held at a later date in Port Hawkesbury.
