After graduating from the New Waterford General Hospital, Cris began her nursing career overseas during World War II with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps and later worked at the Gaum Clinic, followed by a long and fulfilling career with the VON.
Cris’ girls were the core of her life. Her favorite saying was, “I have the best three girls in the world”. She was the mother any one would be proud to call mom. Her love for her sons-in-law and grandchildren was second to none.
Born in Sydney, to the late John and Catherine (Vasallo) Kenney, she was predeceased by her husband Roland, her brothers James, John, Wally and Edward, her sisters Catherine and Eileen and her son-in-law, Badri. She will be dearly missed by her sister Jean and her daughters Karen, Malaysia, Beverley (Danny) Patterson, Sydney and Brenda (Craig) Campbell Woodstock; grandchildren, Suzanna (Greg); Adam (Becky), Diana and Nadira Badri; Crystal, Cheryl, and John Campbell; Jonathan and Jeffrey Patterson and great grandson, Mitchell.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 22, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. from TW Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 23, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment to follow in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
