It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our beloved Tony. On December 8th at 8am, Riverview Redman #8 was drafted to the big leagues. He leaves behind his high school sweetheart, Susan (deVarennes) Coady and “Tony’s Angels”, Alana Coady (Scott MacNeil), Laura Crouse (Nathan), Suzanne Coady (Matthew Kilbride). He is survived by his grandchildren Alex, Shea, Myles and Jake; sisters Colleen Mason (Lenny), Lorraine, and brother Paul (Rea) Coady. He will also be greatly missed by the deVarennes crew aka the “outlaws”.
Tony was predeceased by his parents Dave and Wanda (Kubik) Coady and infant sister Rebecca.
Tony enjoyed gathering the extended family at his home for stories, fun and food. He was known for his quick wit and dry humor; his timing and delivery were unmatched.
Due to a strong work ethic and an organized wife, Tony built a successful business doing what he enjoyed.
Dad was known as an athlete and could often be found at the rink or on the greens.
Although not his sport, Dad would don his cowboy hat and teach his girls how to ‘stick-handle’ the soccer ball each summer.
Tony was a man’s man, who was as strong as an ox and comfortable enough in his own skin to drink coolers because he liked them. Tony impacted many lives and leaves a void that will be impossible to fill. If love could have saved you, you would have lived forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tony's memory may be made to the Hospice & Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 13th, at 11am in Our Lady of Fatima church in Sydney River with Fr. Conrad Edwards officiating. To share memories and condolences please visit www.twcurry.com.
