We are saddened to announce the passing of our dear mother Annie Janet Toney on Jan 6th 2022, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born May 27th, 1946 to parents John R. and Mary (Gould) Denny. Janet married the love of her life John Leonard Toney on February 4, 1967. Together they raised a loving family. John L. passed on July 5, 1998, and now she is reunited with him.
In her younger years, Janet attended Patrick's Beauty College in Sydney and was also employed at Ben’s/Sylliboys. She was also proud of her time as a home support worker, tending to her sisters needs with love and care. Janet enjoyed picking blueberries, after which she would always bake up a storm for her family. She also enjoyed playing bingo, keeping up with events on facebook, greaser dancing, karaoke and visiting the gaming center. After Janet and John L. retired, they spent precious time together travelling in their RV, of which Janet was quite skilled at maneuvering. Janet’s greatest joy was taking care of her family, she even opened her home to foster children whom she loved immensely. Janet would take family members camping in her RV whenever she could, and would often camp at Mala.
Janet is predeceased by her parents John R. and Mary Denny, loving husband John L. Toney, god-parents Leo and Martha Sylliboy, siblings; Margaret Rose Gould, Phyllis Marie Denny, Vera Leona Denny, niece-godchild Roberta Denny, and godchildren Harrison Gould and Nolan Googoo.
