It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne MacDougall at Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Friday, Jan. 23, 2015.
Anne was born in Sydney on April 23, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Agnes (Donovan) Moore.
Anne is survived by her daughter, Evelyn, Halifax; son, Lorne, Sydney; son-in-law, John MacKinnon, Sydney. She is also survived by five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, John; daughter, Paula and daughter-in-law, Shelley; brothers, Richard, William ‘Bill’ and Marty Moore; sisters, Sr. Mary Moore, CND, Sr. Evelyn Moore, SC, Sr. Catherine Moore, CND and Florence ‘Flos’ Curry.
After graduation from Normal College in Truro, Anne taught school for many years, ending her career at Constantine School in Ashby. Anne was a life- long member of St. Theresa’s parish and a life-time member of the parish CWL, where she served at several different capacities, including president.
For the past five years Anne resided at Williston House where she forged many great friendships.There will be no visitation. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Church on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Jim Oliver officiating. Reception will follow the service in the parish hall. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.Family flowers only.
