We the family of Anna McGuire regret to announce her peaceful passing on 31 July 2023. She was the daughter of the late Angus and Mamie (Mombourquette) Morrison.
Anna grew up in Sydney and spent the majority of her life in her home on the farm on Upper Prince Street. She was an avid hockey fan, but what made her the happiest was watching her boys riding their horses at the exhibitions around the Maritimes. She worked for the family business and if you called McGuire’s Snow Removal in the last fifty years, it was probably Anna that answered your call. She enjoyed daily outings to pick up the mail, have a cup of tea and evening drives around town. Weekend shopping trips to Halifax were a highlight.
Above all else, Anna was a dedicated, loving mother, grandmother (Nan) and great-grandmother. If her family was healthy and content so was she. Her love and concern knew no bounds. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but many great memories will warm our hearts.
Besides her parents, Anna was predeceased by her husband Pat and son Mark. She is survived by sons Jim (Colleen), Glenn (Virginia) and daughter Anna Marie (Peter), grandchildren Patrick and Chad (Angela) and great-grandchildren Sadie, Hank, Anna, Mack and Jax.
There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 3rd at 10:00am, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Parish, 381 Whitney Ave, Sydney with Fr. Evo DiPierro officiating. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com.
