Allan McDonald, 93 of 69 Stuart St., Sydney, died Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at Taigh Na Mara, Glace Bay.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Allan M. and Sarah (MacIsaac) McDonald.
He was a member of the Catholic Community of Immaculate Heart and St. Joseph parish, Sydney. He was employed with Canadian National Railway until his retirement. He served overseas in the R.C.A.F. as an aircraft electrician.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce (Calnon) McDonald, whom he married June 6, 1945 in England, by two sons Allan G., Robert F. and daughter Diane M., all of Sydney; grandchildren David, Alberta and Robert and Melissa, Sydney. Allan was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Allan was predeceased by brothers Malcolm, Charlie, Bernard, Wilfred, 2 infant brothers, A.J. and John; sisters Evelyn, Celia, Mary Rose and Margaret.
Visitation for Allan McDonald will take place on Friday (today) at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Conrad Edwards officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
