I taught with Allan at Cusack and found him to be very kind, fair, and helpful.
Our faith teaches us that death is a passage way from our physical life on earth to our spiritual life in heaven with God and all who have gone before him. We never die, but transition to a new life in heaven.

My sincerest condolences  on the passing of Allan.   He was a good man, a good teacher and a good friend and colleague.    I fondly remember his big smile and laugh!     Either were never far away!  
I regret not being able to attend his wake and funeral  and a chance to offer my sympathy to his family!

We have met Allan on several occasions with our family in Sydney and once at his home on his beloved Mira River.  It never failed. We never saw him without a wide smile coupled with a welcoming handshake. Our favorite memory was the evening he took us out on his pontoon boat on the Mira River. He was proud to show it off, but even more proud to let us drive his boat up and down and across the river. Even when we got stuck in the weeds for a few minutes and we thought someone would have to rescue us, Allan was amused at our concern. He got us out and smiled our way back to the shore. When I remember him, it's that grin that I'll remember. Imagine his smile now on the eternal river where there are no weeds. 

Our thoughts and prayers  go out to Allan 's family, and  to all those who knew him as a friend, neighbour, colleague, and/or volunteer.  l knew throughout his career in education, and more especially as principal of Cusack Elementary School where he was recognized as an excellent administrator and leader.  A true gentleman, kind hearted,  with a keen sense of humour, he  was  missed when he retired and is remembered  as being  a  model for those students who later chose teaching as a career.    A life well lived, a life  to be remembered, a family saddened, but happy memories never to be forgotten,  ----that's a great life.    

Aunt Peggy, Alana, Carla, Patricia and Val so sorry for your loss. I am so grateful I was able to see Uncle Allan this pass August. Aunt Peggy I think of you often my thoughts and prayers are with you. Please keep in touch I am here for you anytime any day.

A great man. Kind and helpful. A joy to teach with.

As a neighbour and friend, Allan was always an example of honesty, helpfulness and true-blue spirit. A community stalwart he was always first to volunteer and quickest to offer a hand with whatever you were doing. His speeches while MCing numerous functions throughout the area were always injected with humour and respect for the entertainers and audiences alike, which endeared him to all. We have lost another giant amongst us and someone you were proud to call, “friend”.  May God bless and keep you Allan!!!

We'll never have enough words to describe what a generous giving man Allan was . He led the communities of both Grand Mira and Marion Bridge and probably every other place he was a member of . he was always making us laugh and could tell a joke   ..wait for  it .. the punch lines were soo good ! Just so sad we can't be there to celebrate a life well lived as we are away. We will be lost without him , the sound of his great voice , the generosity  of giving his time   to benefit our parishes . My deepest condolences to the family.
It’s been along time since Mr. McDougall was my grade 6 teacher at Constantine.  I was a handful to manage as a student. But he stood out as the one teacher who encouraged me,  And while he may never have realized how his positive encouragement stayed with me. He taught me that a bit of encouragement can go a long way with a child for a long time. Every student has a favourite teacher, he was mine, and it wasn’t even close. I regret that I never ran into him later in life to tell him that. 

Prayers and sympathy to the MacDougall Family on your loss.  We only met Allan since he came to Grand Mira.  Whether at tarbish(Albert) or the picnic,  meeting Allan was always a pleasant friendly experience. He left a great impression on those he interacted with because of his outgoing, friendly and inclusive personality!  Although he is gone from sight, he will live on in the wonderful memories you have.  We are away and will not be able to attend the wake or funeral, but will say a prayer for all.  Allan is also a great loss to the community of Grand Mira South and St Margaret's.

Condolences to the family of Allan.  I live in Caribou, Maine but I visit my sister and brother-in-law Sara and Reg Deveaux every summer.  I would always see Allan with the rest of the gang out in the garage playing darts.  Allan  was such a wonderful person and always made sure he said hello.  When he moved from Westmount, Allan still came by to my sister's home to say HELLO.  He made me feel that I was important.  He was a very thoughtful person.  

Aunt Peggy, Alana,Val,Carla Jean, & Patricia,so sorry for your loss.  I remeber Uncle Allan so full of life and fun. He and my mom would go back and forth red sox vs blue jays.  I am so happy I came home 2 yrs ago and had a great visit. I know he will be watching over you all he is your new angel in heaven.   Love you all and you  are in my prayers.

Allan was an amazing teacher.  He was firm but always so very kind  I have lots of wonderful memories for sure.   I also would see him out here in our community.  He was a leader everywhere he went and that giant smile always followed.  Sincere  sympathy to his family.   He will be missed.

Allan was born to teach...he was a young teacher when he taught me in Park...my friend and I ran into him at Robins donuts several years ago and shared a laugh about us trying to figure out how to use our cell phones for texting and adding emojis....I said you made math easy compared to what we need to learn now as seniors...he laughed and wished us good luck....Rest peacefully Allan,you were an awesome teacher....

I played darts with Allan out Grand Mira. He always had a smile no matter what  I am so sorry for your loss of a great man. You are in my thoughts and Prayers
