93 – Sydney
We are sorry to announce the sudden passing of Adeline Lynch on August 3, 2015 at the CB Regional Hospital. The last surviving member of her immediate family, born in Sydney to the late Hugh and Florence (Lamey) MacDonnell.
After graduating from Holy Angels she then worked at the Sydney Naval Base during the war as an ULTRA operator where slow convoys were assembled; after which she was married to Robert Hugh Lynch for 59 years. They were avid travelers to many places around the world. They spent winters in Sarasota, FL and summers in Northside East Bay. She enjoyed playing golf and family games of tarabish, bridge and cribbage. She will be missed I’m sure by her new acquaintances at the Steelworkers Hall for her games of tarabish as well as her Girl’s weekly game of bridge with her daughters and their friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert, son Gregory, and siblings Mary (Steve) MacAdam, Hughena, Muriel, and Alice MacDonnell, John (Dorothy), Byron (Muriel), and Oscar.
She is survived by her children Colleen (Charles) MacKinnon, Hugh (Anne), daughter-in-law Maureen, Roberta, Peter, Cathy (Bob) McDonald, D’arcy (Michele). Also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Doreen MacDonnell.
Visitation for the late Mrs. Lynch will be on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 am at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church with Rev. Duaine Devereaux officiating. Interment in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
