Adele Mary Hashem

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Adele Mary Hashem on December 7, 2023 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Adele was born in Sydney, on December 13, 1939 to the late John and Freda Hashem. Adele is survived by one brother Abe Hashem and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Edward, Paul and George, sisters Martha Glancey, Angelina Sutton and Helen Woodhouse.

Adele was a graduate of Mt. St. Vincent Academy in Halifax and St. Elizabeth Hospital in North Sydney with a BSC in Nursing. She spent many years working as a nurse in the USA and Canada. The past thirty years have been in the ICU of Montreal General Hospital.

Adele leaves behind many close friends including those from her nursing years in the ICU.

Adele was well loved by all her nieces and friends who will miss her every single day.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
