We are saddened to announce that Kenneth MacLeod passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly at home with his wife by his side. Ken was born in Sydney on April 9, 1947 to the late John “Jack” and Margaret “Peggy” (Wright) MacLeod and grew up in a family of six. Ken was always an independent and strong individual and maintained his feisty spirit right up until the end. He worked for Marine Atlantic all his life advancing to the rank of Chief Purser. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping, dancing with his beloved Caroline and working around the house, but his true love was his family. He was a loving and caring husband to Caroline and a beloved father to daughters Caroline and the late Marie. There is nothing he wouldn’t do and no length he wouldn’t go for his girls. He adored and will be missed by Rocky (his four legged friend). He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews, especially Patsy (Raymond) Foley, who was more like a sister, his brother Gordon, longtime friends Ben & Rhea Long and long time friend Jobie Williams, Jamie Anderson who was like a son-in-law to him and Nikola Smejkalova,Vanessa Fagard,Leanne (Justin) Latwaitis, Crystal (Michael) Williams and Wanda Pye who were like adopted daughters to him as well as godson James Foley and good neighbor Blair MacDonald. Besides his parents and daughter Marie, Ken was also predeceased by another daughter in infancy. A private family service will take place.
