It is with deep regret and sadness that we the family announce the sudden passing of Donald “Bobbeck” MacKinnon on Oct. 4, 2024.
Born in Blackpoint on Dec. 2, 1958 he was the son of the late Donald and Jessie (Burton) MacKinnon.
Bob spent many years working hard in the woods and was last employed with Victoria Co-op fisheries. Bob was always willing to lend a helping hand with any project that was on the go. He enjoyed a good game of Tarbish or Crib, telling stories and spending time with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his children Donnelle (Dwight), Mitchel (Allyson) their mother Cindy Campbell and his new grandson Peter. His loving sisters Elizabeth, Sadie (Hector), Katie, Jean (Benny) and Denise (John); his loving brothers Louis (Piney), Alex (Lally), Anthony (Karen); also survived by numerous nieces and nephews; special to Uncle Bob where Jessica, Norman, Jamie, Mikey, Jenna, A.J., Andrew, Lee, Tyler, Lou, Crystal, Jolene, Vanessa, Twyla, April, Iven, Paula, Kimberly, Stevie, Nikki, Luke, Tammy and many grand nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents Bob was predeceased by siblings Millie, Wayne, Joan, Nellie, Myles, Bernie, Peter, Johny and Nora; and nephew Lenny.
There will be visitation of family and friends on Tuesday October 15, 2024 from 2-4 and 7-9pm in Fillmore and Whitman Funeral Home Clyde Ave. Sydney Mines. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday October 16, 2024 at 3pm in Knox Presbyterian Church Baddeck, with burial to follow in Greenwood Cemetery Baddeck.
