Steven W. Drabik, age 34, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 in Rhode Island Hospital. Born in Providence, the son of Leslaw and Martha (Camacho) Drabik of Swansea, he was a longtime resident of Swansea prior to moving to Providence.
A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 2007, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Roger Williams University in 2011 and was currently attending the University of Rhode Island for Physical Therapy.
Steven worked for IBM in Colombia, Missouri for several years until he followed his true passion and became a Fitness Trainer. A sports enthusiast, he was passionate about basketball. A loyal San Antonio Spurs fan, he closely followed the career of Tim Duncan. Disciplined in his own health and fitness, he was proud to continue with his education in the Physical Therapy field. Steven was a gentle giant with a kind heart and a permanent smile that could capture the attention of every space he entered. He loved music, spending time with his friends, colleagues, and co-workers from his most recent bartending venture in Newport, RI.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one sister, Christine Drabik of Swansea and her partner Michael McKay of Plymouth; two nephews, Jameson and Odin Whalley; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. The Funeral Service and Burial will be private. Contributions in his honor may be made to The Stoico/FIRSTFED YMCA, 271 Sharps Lot Rd, Swansea, MA 02777.
