Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Burns) Haggerty, she had been a longtime resident of Swansea.
A graduate of Mount St. Mary’s High School, she graduated from Johnson and Wales University and received her master’s degree from the former S.M.U. now UMASS Dartmouth. She worked as an accountant for the town of Swansea for many years. An avid reader, Mrs. Samson enjoyed traveling, knitting and playing bingo. She especially loved her two dogs Max and Bella.
She is survived by one son, Christopher J. Aubut and his wife Lucy of Swansea; two daughters, Stacy Marquis and her husband Brian of Somerset, Nicole Aubut of Fall River; one sister, Patricia Wood and her husband Ernest “Red” of Somerset; sister-in-law, Joanne Haggerty of Attleboro, four grandchildren, six great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Robert Haggerty.
Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Monday from 5:00 to 8:00PM. Contributions in her honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
