Born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he was the son of The Reverend Dr. William Martin Finnin Jr. of Sebastian, Florida and Mary Ladd (Bingham) Finnin of Swansea, Massachusetts.
Ryan graduated high school from Bending Oaks Academy in Richardson, Texas and attended Warren Wilson and Texas Wesleyan Colleges. He enjoyed working as a salesperson in various settings as well as his work in security and repo before his accident necessitated his going on permanent disability. He volunteered as a team leader for the overflow at the homeless shelter in Fall River and at the Thrifty Shoppe at the First Congregational Church in Swansea.
His first love was spending time with his family and friends. He was a well-read man who could converse about many diverse interests as he learned from his love for traveling, cooking, fishing, and reading. He was affectionately called by his mom and others as a “Gentle Giant.”
In addition to his parents he is survived by one son: Adrian Patrick Finnin of Providence, Rhode Island, one brother: Aaron Ladd Finnin of Hollywood, California, his former wife: Evelyn Acosta of Providence, Rhode Island, two step-daughters: Natalyz and Merlyz Quezada of Providence, Rhode Island and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
His Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 4:00PM in the First Congregational Church, 1113 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Burial private.
