Born in Cranston, RI, a daughter of the late Daniel A. and Laura (Hobday) Booker, she spent her youth in Rhode Island, graduating from Cranston West, moving to Swansea in 1950.
Mrs. O’Brien had worked at Texas Instruments for 35 years, retiring in 1975. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Seniors, the American Legion Auxillary Senior Club and enjoyed reading and knitting.
Surviving: one daughter: Jo-Anne Pagliaroni and her husband Stephen with whom she lived in Swansea, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Daniel E. O’Brien and Gail Verville and sister of the late Alice Swift.
Her funeral will be held Friday, January 18, 2013 at 10 AM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea. Her family will greet friends from 9 AM to 10 AM prior to her funeral. Contributions in her honor may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Assocation JDFR, 60 Walnut St. Wellesley Hills, MA 02481.
