Richard "Rick" G. Curt

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Walter and Evelyn (Dussault) Curt, he was raised in Somerset and a longtime resident of Swansea.

A graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1961 he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Salve Regina University. Retiring as Sergeant in 2006, he worked on the Swansea Police Department for 32 years.

A Boston Red Sox fan, he enjoyed the game of golf and working in his yard. He loved to collect and repair antiques. A fitting statement to describe Rick would be “a Jack of all trades, master of none, oftentimes better than a master of one”. Rick had a talent for anything he set his mind on.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Kristen Reynolds of Somerset, Jennifer Timpson and her husband Grey of Coventry and Elizabeth Dratch of Middletown, NJ; one son, Richard Curt and his wife Jillian of Rehoboth; one sister, June Partridge; seven grandchildren, Caleb Whited, Brookelynn Timpson, Jameson Dratch, Jonah Whited, Cameron Timpson, Emelyn Whited and Elijah Timpson; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Fred Curt and Evelyn Burch.

His Funeral Service will be on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea followed by burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Swansea.
