

Wife of the late Russell B. Cochrane, Louise was born in Fall River in 1921. Daughter of the late Napolean and Marguerite (Cote) Gendreau, Louise resided in Fall River until 1952, when she then moved to Swansea with her husband for the remainder of her life.
Louise was a volunteer nurse for the Red Cross during World War II.
She was a graduate of the Dominican Academy, and the F.G. Allen School of Business. Before her marriage she worked for Mr. Frank Albro as secretary and stenographer. After her marriage she was the bookkeeper for her husband’s insurance company for 25 years.
She was the first president of Our Lady of Fatima Woman’s Guild, as well as a member of the Altar Guild, and a teacher of CCD. She was very active in the religious and social activities at the church with her husband due to their profound love of the church.
Louise was a Den Mother for the Cub Scouts, and was active in Girl Scout projects and activities. For thirty years she and her husband were members of the Swansea Couples Bowling League.
She loved music, theatre, and cooking, and thoroughly enjoyed her time together with her husband, children and grandchildren.
She leaves behind her son Paul and his wife Jeanne of Waldo Maine, and her two daughters, Margo Monahan, and her husband Bill of Adamsville, and Anne Reid, and her husband John of Bridgewater. She leaves one grandson, Michael Cochrane, and his sisters Andrea Talty, Rachel Taylor, and Emily Cochrane, as well as Jessica, Heather, Melanie, and Brianna Reid of Bridgewater. She also leaves her great grandchildren, Liana, Elise, and Sylvia Talty, Lincoln, Oliver, and Julian Taylor, and Vivienne and Charlie Dunn.
She was the sister of the late Monsignor Alfred Gendreau, and the late Blanche, Romeo, Armand, Arthur, Edward, Raymond, and Albert Gendreau.
She leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews.
Louise also leaves behind Virginia Morissette, a dear friend and neighbor.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hudner Oncology Center at St. Anne’s Hospital.
Her funeral mass will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 9:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea . Relatives and friends invited.
