Born in Sharon, Connecticut, she was the daughter of John and Janice (DeMello) Vieira of Swansea.
A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1985, she received her Bachelor’s degree from Clark University in 1989 and her Master’s degree in Science and Agriculture from Texas A&M in 1991. She completed her Nursing Degree from Bristol Community College in 1996.
She worked as a Registered Nurse with South Coast Hospitals for many years. She was active in the New England Morgan Horse community.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, KrisAnn Jardin of Swansea, her brother, Steven Vieira and his wife Lori of Chesterland, OH and her six loving nieces and nephews, Samantha Jardin, Bret Jardin, Kyle Jardin, Conner Vieira, Emily Vieira, and Ella Vieira.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, November 26, 2021 at 11 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends are invited to share thoughts and memories of Karen.
