He was born in Fall River, the son of the late James J. Waring Sr. and Sarah I. (Walker) Waring. Jim was employed as a Foreman at ICI of America in Dighton for over forty years.
He was past president of the Cedar Cove Club in Swansea, an avid golfer, he along with his wife Deb were doubles champions at Montaup Country Club in Portsmouth, RI.
He is survived by his three children Elizabeth “Betsy” Waring of Swansea, Pamela B. Waring of Ashland, MA, and Christopher J. Waring of Swansea; three grandchildren Jay and Jeffrey Amaral and Alison Carpenter, three great grandchildren Grace, Matthew and Mason, and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Leslie W. Carpenter and brother of the late Donald “Dutch” Waring.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Sunday February 1, 2015 at 12 noon in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE AT BIRCHCREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Road Swansea. Visitation will be Sunday from 11AM to 12PM prior to his service. Burial will be private.
