He was the beloved husband of Helen (Velozo) Correia and son of the late Manuel and Rosaline (Pacheco) Correia.
Along with his wife, Jim is survived by his children: Glen Correia (fiancée, Sharon Snowdale) of Swansea and Lisa (Correia) Caton of Somerset; two grandchildren, Kevin and Thomas Caton, both of Somerset; his loving, compassionate service dog, Daisey; and his two great grandchildren. He also leaves his loving extended family, including Brian, Meghan and Jillian Snowdale, Kelly and Michael Cardoza, Krystal Medeiros and many friends.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army, stationed in the Pentagon, working in General Westmorland’s office during the Vietnam War. He was operations manager for Dupuis Oil and delivery Manager for Nite Oil before retiring. He had also been a patrolman for the Swansea Police Department for 13 years. He enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, was an avid bowler and was a member of league bowling at Somerset lanes with his son Glen.
His funeral service will be held Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 9:30 AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. John of God Church, Somerset. Relatives and friends are invited. Visitation will be held Thursday from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM, prior to Mass. Burial with Military Honors will be held in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
