

Gerard N. “Jerry” Tremblay, age 68, of Swansea, passed away peacefully Sunday, November 13, 2016 with his wife and family by his side. He was the beloved husband of Diane E. (Janson) Tremblay to whom he has been married for the past 45 years.
Born in Fall River, a son of the late Camille and Rita (Dumont) Tremblay, he lived in Fall River before moving to Swansea in 1975.
A graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, class of 1966, he received his associate’s degree in engineering in 1968. A Veteran of the United States Army he served during the Vietnam War as a Specialist 4 and was stationed in Germany.
Mr. Tremblay worked as a Designer for Cumberland Engineering before retiring in 2001 and after retirement he worked in the Mill Stores. An active communicant of the former St. Michael’s Church now St. Francis of Assisi, he served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society.
A world traveler, he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and golf. He will be sadly missed by his cairn terrier “Charlie.”
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two brothers; Robert C. Tremblay and his wife Claire of Westport, Rene J. Tremblay and his wife Carol of Warren, RI, brother-in-law; Robert Janson and his wife Joyce of Swansea, sister-in-law; Helen Lawlor of Long Island, NY, and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Roland Tremblay.
His Funeral will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 9:00AM from the Waring-Sullivan Home of Memorial Tribute at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 530 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Visiting hours Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM. Contributions in his honor may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 220 North Main St. #104, Natick, MA 01760. Burial in Vinnicum Woods Cemetery, Swansea.
