Francis K. “Ken” Fennelly, age 99, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017 surrounded by his family at his residence. He was the loving husband of Yvette R. (Couturier) Fennelly to whom he was married for 75 years.
Born in Fall River a son of the late Charles and the late Elizabeth (Reid) Fennelly he had been a resident of Swansea for many years.
A U.S. Army veteran he served during WWII. He was a truck driver for Shell Oil for 40 years before retiring in 1981. A communicant of St. Francis of Assisi he also enjoyed golf and taking long walks, well into his 90’s.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Francis K. Fennelly, Jr. and his wife Connie, Richard A. Fennelly and his wife Pauline and Kevin M. Fennelly and his wife Beth; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Charles Fennelly.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 8:30 AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT BIRCHCREST, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea with a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Francis of Assisi, 530 Gardners Neck Rd.
