Donna Marie Wood

Donna M. (Carvalho) Wood, age 58, of Swansea, passed away Friday, April 5, 2019 in Charlton Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Kenneth A. Wood to whom she has been married for the past 38 years.

Born in Somerset, a daughter of Helena Claire (Frazer) Carvalho of Kennesaw, Georgia and the late Manuel Carvalho, she was a resident of Swansea for over thirty-five years.

A graduate of Somerset High School, Class of 1978, she worked as a Medical Assistant at The Swansea Family Practice for many years. She was a member of the First Christian Congregational Church in Swansea. Mrs. Wood was an excellent seamstress and took pride in altering many uniforms for the Joseph Case High School Marching Band. She also enjoyed shopping and attending baseball games.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by three children, Kendra Wajda of Swansea, Jared Wood of New Durham, New Hampshire, Brett Wood of Swansea; one brother, Kenneth Carvalho of Kennesaw, Georgia; one sister, Sheryl Sullivan of Somerset; dear friend Dr. Reverend Holly Norwick and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Thomas Carvalho.

Private arrangements are in the care of the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Contributions in her honor may be made to the First Christian Congregational Church, 1113 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea, MA 02777.
