David T. Duquette, age 61, of Swansea, formerly of Warwick, died, Sunday, June 20, 2010 surrounded by his loving family in Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River. He was the husband of Edith A. “Cookie” (Perkins) Duquette to whom he has been married for the past 7 years.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Richard and Naomi (Downer) Duquette, he was a resident of Warwick for many years before moving to Swansea over 10 years ago.
He attended Warwick Veterans Memorial High School and worked as a Lab Technician and Quality Control for the former Arlon Company in East Providence for 36 years and was a member of the teamsters local 251.
An avid runner, he was a member of the Cranston Rhode Runners and ran in over 100 road races, 14 marathons, and ran the Mount Washington road race twice. He was also an avid New England Patriots fan and was passionate about astronomy and history.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Laura Jackman of Warwick, Sarah Marotto and her husband Michael of Hope Valley, RI, two sisters, Dolores Eccleston and her husband Butch of West Warwick, RI, Deborah Andruchow and her husband Andy of South Carolina, two step-sons, Alan Vital and his wife Melissa of East Providence, Michael Vital and his wife Sherri of Swansea, three grandchildren, William, Julia, and Lucas, two step-grandchildren, Michael and Alex, and many nieces and nephews.
His Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 6:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME OF MEMORIAL TRIBUTE at BIRCHCREST 189 Gardner’s Neck Rd. Swansea. Visiting hours prior from 4:00 to 6:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. Burial private.
