Cynthia L. (Mascarenas) Rochford, age 67, of Swansea, passed away Thursday, December 14, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of Thomas G. Rochford to whom she has been married for the past thirty-five years.
Born in Denver, Colorado, a daughter of the late Joe and Edith (Quintana) Mascarenas, she lived in Aurora, Colorado before moving to Swansea eight years ago.
She was a graduate of Adams City High School, Class of 1968. In addition to being a homemaker and caring for her children, she worked for the Aurora School System.
Cynthia liked to bowl, play softball and gamble. She enjoyed dining out with her husband on Friday evenings and loved the beach. She especially loved spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jodi Rochford of Swansea; one son, Thomas C. Rochford and his wife Cori of Willow Spring, North Carolina; one sister, Patricia Ellis of North Carolina; two brothers, Richard and Scott Mascarenas both of Colorado; five grandchildren, Tony, Tahlaia and Tayke Delk, Jamarion Knight and Stella Rochford. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. She was the Nana of the late Mateo Rochford and sister of the late Elena Williams.
Her Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00PM with a service to be held at 7:00PM. Relatives and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her honor may be made to the Charlton Memorial Hospital Cancer Center, Patient Care Giver Fund, 101 Page St., New Bedford, MA 02740. Please make checks payable to Southcoast Health and include In Loving Memory of Cynthia Rochford in the memo. Burial private.
