Alan R. Simcock

Alan R. Simcock, age 85, of Swansea, passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Wilma R. (Rose) Simcock to whom he has been married to for the past 62 years.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late Robert and Jesse (Marshall) Simcock, he was a lifelong resident of Swansea.

A graduate of Joseph Case High School, Class of 1955, he was a longtime farmer on his family farm Simcock Farms in Swansea.

An avid hunter, he was a member of the Somerset Sportsman Club where he enjoyed trap shooting. He loved to farm his land and take care of animals. He enjoyed playing cards especially a good hand of pitch. He and his wife loved to travel and dine out. He had a great sense of humor and always had funny stories to share.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Sheila Rodrigues and her husband John of Tiverton; one son, James Simcock and his wife Beverlyanne of Swansea; three grandchildren, Crystal Porada and her husband Jared, John and Seth Rodrigues; two great-grandchildren, Faith and Grace Porada all of Tiverton and many nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Glen Simcock.

His Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at 4:00PM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest, 189 Gardners Neck Rd., Swansea. Relatives and friends invited. Visitation will be held prior to his service from 2:00 to 4:00PM. Burial private.
