Ziqiang Yang (杨自强), 91 of Shanghai, China, peacefully passed away at Burnaby Hospital, BC, Canada on Tuesday, December 5, 2023. Ziqiang Yang was born in Ningbo, Zhejiang, China on August 19, 1932 to parents JiaMin Yang (杨嘉民) and Biyun Du (屠碧云). He married Sanying Yin, the love of his life, in 1963. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Sanying Yin in 2022.
Ziqiang was a graduate of Qingdao University, and received his BS Degree in physics. He lived in Shanghai for 50+ years before moving to Vancouver, Canada in 2000. He was a physics teacher at JiGuang Secondary School, Shanghai, for more than 30 years, He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by his students and his family. He enjoyed reading Chinese Wuxia / Martial arts novels and spending time with his family. Ziqiang is survived by his daughter Hong Yang of Seattle, son-in-law Xuezhai Ni of Seattle, his daughter Jun Yang of Burnaby, son-in-law Qing Kang of Burnaby; and four grandchildren Gentai, Amy, Yian, David.
A graveside service for Zi Qiang will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 28th Ave, Surrey, BC V4P1P3.
Sanying Yin (殷三英), 80 of Shanghai, China, passed away at her home, Burnaby, BC, Canada on Thursday, March 18, 2022, with her family by her side. Sanying Yin was born in Suzhou, Jiangsu on January 24, 1942 to Nichai Yin (殷宜彩) and Suzhen Wang (王素珍). She had a wonderful and happy childhood at Suzhou. In 1962, she met Ziqiang Yang at Shanghai, and they wed in 1963 at Suzhou, going on to have 2 children, Hong Yang and Jun Yang, and they lived together in Shanghai for thirty years before relocating to Vancouver, Canada. Sanying was known for her artistic talent, and for her unending love for her family and friends. And she always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy. She loved dance, learned to identify lots of flowers, plants and enjoyed Suzhou and shanghai cuisine. She was preceded in death by her parents. Sanying is survived by her husband Ziqiang Yang, her daughter Hong Yang of Seattle, son-in-law Xuezhai Ni of Seattle, her daughter Jun Yang of Burnaby, son-in-law Qing Kang of Burnaby; and four children Gentai, Amy, Yian, David.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, April 18, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. at the Victory Memorial Park & Funeral Centre, Surrey, BC, burial to follow.
