She passed quietly at 7:15am on March 9th at Three Links Care Centre in Vancouver. She was a strong Matriarch who cared deeply for her family and friends. She loved grandchildren and great grandchildren dearly. She truly loved living on the Sunshine Coast and showed her love through her ongoing contributions to the community caring for seniors, as President of the Sechelt Legion, volunteering for Navy Cadets, and participating in the church community at the Calvary Chapel. When she wasn’t helping others, Maureen flourished in the garden always puttering and she loved the beach, ocean, and sun.
Maureen is survived by Sister Pat Bennett, Brother Ken McDowell, sons Brad and Chris Dorais, daughter in laws Nadine Plett and Ruby Dorais, grandchildren Drew Hart, Bailey Dorais, Shawna Yee, Missy Plett, Trent Dorais, Amber Dorais, Devon Dorais, Terrin Kandola, Tristan Kandola, and many great grandchildren.
