Marta "Marty" Louise Smith

Marta Louise Smith, 79, of White Rock B.C., passed away suddenly on June 24, 2024 in Peace Arch Hospital.

Marty was born on May 20, 1945 to Gordon and Louise Spencer in Vancouver B.C. She grew up in the Guildford area of Surrey and graduated from North Surrey High School in 1963. Marty married Garry Melien in 1963, their daughter Jandy was born on June 22, 1966. After a failed marriage in the late 60’s Marty toured with her band singing country rock music. During this time she met and married Richard Smith the love of her life! She left the music scene and bought a grocery store and has always had an entrepreneurial spirit.

In the late 80’s she launched into real estate in South Surrey/White Rock and was still working as a successful Realtor when she passed. Marty was loved and respected by 100’s of clients and fellow Realtors over the past 35 Years.

Marta is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years Richard Smith, father Gordon Spencer, mother Louise Moore. She is survived by her daughter Jandy and step-daughter Tracey, 5 very loved grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, her sister Diane McLellan, brothers Zane Spencer and Wes Spencer.
