Maria is lovingly remembered by her children: Michele (Paula), Giuseppe (Esther), Luigina Celentano (Carmine d.2021), Antonio (Heather) and Anette Joyce Duffels (d.2009)(Michael). Lovingly remembered by her sixteen grandchildren (and their respective partners) and by her twenty-five great grandchildren.
Maria (née Ciarciello) was born in Panni in the province of Foggia, Italy. As a young woman, with three young children, she crossed an ocean and an entire continent to join her husband Carmine (d.2007) in Kitimat BC with the hope of affording her family an opportunity for a better life.
Maria enjoyed knitting, bingo, casinos, a game of “scopa”, bowling and also known to occasionally wakeboard.
Most of all she loved her family and cooking for them was truly a labour of love. No one ever left her house hungry nor empty handed.
She will be dearly missed.
