Marcel was a beloved member of our family, whose presence brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. With a heavy heart, we announce his passing on Thursday, June 13th, 2024. Marcel was a kind and compassionate soul, always ready to lend a helping hand and brighten someone's day.
Born in St. Boniface and raised in St. Elizabeth, Manitoba, Marcel had a sharp wit and a keen sense of humour. He had a curious mind and a thirst for knowledge, always seeking to learn new things. Marcel was known for his infectious smile and his ability to make people feel at ease in his presence.
Following his brother-in-law into the field, Marcel had a successful career as an Engineer for many companies, including his birthplace St. Boniface Hospital and Supercrete in Manitoba. He finished his career in BC at Labatt Breweries in 1995. His dedication, humour and hard work were admired by his colleagues and inspired his brother, son in law and grandson to enter the Engineering field. Marcel's contributions will not be forgotten, as he leaves behind nothing but positive memories that will live on forever.
Outside of his work, Marcel had a deep love for his family and friends. He was a devoted husband and father, always prioritizing the well-being and happiness of his loving wife and daughters. The family enjoyed many long road trips in their motorhome, singing Simon & Garfunkel songs at the top of their lungs. Marcel's presence at family gatherings and social events will be sorely missed, as his warm and welcoming nature created an atmosphere of love and togetherness.
In his free time, Marcel enjoyed pursuing his hobbies and passions. Whether it was playing golf, sinking every ball on the pool table, or laughing along with his friends while playing cards, Marcel always found joy in the simple pleasures of life. And let us not forget how he lit up whenever anyone mentioned going to the casino!
Marcel's departure leaves a void in our hearts, but his memory will forever be cherished. He touched the lives of so many people and left a positive impact on everyone that knew him. As we mourn his loss, let us also celebrate the beautiful life he lived and the incredible person he was!
Marcel is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Patsy, his daughters Gisele and Monique, his sons-in-law Randall and Mike, as well as his legacy of grandchildren and extended family.
May Marcel's soul rest in eternal peace, and may our memories of him continue to inspire us all.
