Leslie Charles Hill, born July 10, 1916, passed away peacefully on February 20th, 2017, at the Weatherby Pavilion (Peace Arch Hospital). Mr. Hill is survived by his 3 nephews; John, Brian and Glen, and 2 nieces; Brenda and Joan. Mr. Hill and his wife, Victoria, were married for 64 very happy years. Mr. Hill had been a member of The International Union of Operating Engineers (Local Union No. 963). Mr. Hill was also a founding member of The Vancouver and New Westminster coin clubs, The Canadian Numismatic Association since 1950, and The Royal Numismatic Society (London, England). Mr. Hill was an historian of the Vancouver Coin Club and British Columbia/Yukon regions when it came to coins and tokens in the areas. Mr. Hill received the J.Douglas Ferguson Award for 2 books he put out on coins and tokens of B.C./Yukon. Mr. Hill will be greatly missed by many he came in contact with over the 100 years of his life. We all will miss his wit and intellect!
