We never met, but I am a cousin of Nardo from the da Silva side of the family. My mother, Carmen, was one of the sisters of Nardo's father Leo.

My deepest condolences on Leo’s sudden passing. I worked closely with Leo on a few projects at the IIO for the last couples of years. He was very calm, kind and smart. He was always there to help no matter how difficult the tasks were. I will certainly miss him and remember him fondly.

For Jackie and family – my deepest condolences to you all. Leo has been a friend, mentor and colleague to me for over 30 years. He was always there for me throughout my career – as my boss, as a colleague, and most recently assisting me through various projects. He was kind, patient, generous, smart and always found the positive in any situation. He was a good friend and I will miss him dearly.

My deepest condolences on Leo's passing.  I didn't know him for long but he left a lasting impression.  What a sweet, sweet gentleman.  He was always so kind and would take the time to answer any question.   I am so very sorry for your loss.

My condolences to your family.  I only knew Leo through the IIO but I can say without hesitation that he was a true gentleman, always with a smile on his face and an upbeat attitude. 
The memory of his time with us at the IIO will live on and we are all better people for having had Leo in our work lives if only for a short period of time.

My deepest and heart felt condolences to the family and friends of Leo.  I was saddened by the news of Leo's passing.  We shared an office for a short time at the IIOBC.  Leo and I had some great conversations.  I recall a moment when we mutually agreed that we were both very content with our place in the universe and that life was good.  I will miss you Leo but will see you on the other side and it's your turn to buy...goodbye for now my friend.  

Leo was an amazing person to work with. He always had an inquisitive, calm, kind approach to obstacles in the workplace and he got things done. That is not always easy in government. I enjoyed chatting with him and collaborating during projects. I will certainly miss him and remember him fondly.

I had the pleasure of working with Leo during his time at the IIO. He was always so kind and patient and it was truly sad news to hear of his passing. My condolences to Leo's family and I hope you all are surrounded by love and support.

I have very fond memories of Leo and remember him from his work at TransLink. However I got to know Leo very much during his time spent consulting at the Independent Investigations Office of BC. Leo was a kind and caring person, and we absolutely valued his contributions to our office. I loved the personal chats we had, and will miss him.

I worked with Leo.  I remember the first time I talked to him. I felt a huge sense of relief as someone FINALLY understood our project and the systems that underpinned it. He just got it. He was so bright. And not just in work, but in life. Every time I talked to him, every laugh he gave us at work. All his kindness.

To his family, I am sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing your Leo with us. Know that he touched many, just by being  Leo.
