John “Rick” Polson passed away on September 27th, 2017 after a short, yet difficult battle with brain cancer. He spent his final days surrounded by his loved ones. Rick was a loving husband, Father and Grandfather (Papa). He is survived by his wife Bobbie of 47 years, his daughters Lisa, Kelly and Sarah, his grandchildren Milissa, Luke, Noah, Sophie, Chloe, and Paige, and his sister Leslie. He is predeceased by his Father John, his Mother Barbara and his sister Lana. He was the best husband, Dad and Papa one could ask for. He loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He was a man of great character, integrity, and faith. He touched many people’s lives with his inspiring words, open heart and acceptance of everyone. He was always the life of the party and always knew how to make people laugh, with his amazing sense of humour. He was a dedicated sports fan. He loved sports of all kinds, especially golf with his friends, football and hockey. He worked for Telus for 47 years where he was a loyal and hardworking employee. His skills and abilities were vast, and he proudly renovated his house inside and out by himself. He was loved by many. “We love you so much. You were taken way too early and you will never be forgotten. You will always be with us. We know you are looking down at us from Heaven. Till we meet again. Love, your girls.” A celebration of Rick’s life will be held on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at Victory Memorial Park in Surrey at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
