It’s with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather; John on July 14 2018. He was born on Dec 13 1931 in Drumshanbo, Ireland and moved to Canada in 1957 where he proudly became a citizen in 1974. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 57 years Marlene, his daughters Diane, Kristen (Doug) and son Mark as well as grandchildren Ryan, Taylor, Mitchell, Paige, Clay and Quinn, and brothers Ken and Derek. John started out working on the railway when he first moved to Canada and eventually worked with his brother Ken at Lighter Repairs and Sales in Vancouver on Pender Street for several years until he retired. John loved his time away at Cultus Lake and recently at Harrison Holiday Park with his friends and family where he would often be seen on the golf course or riding his bike as they were passions he really enjoyed. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held on Friday July 27 at 2pm at First Memorial Fraser Heights Chapel, 14835 Fraser Highway, Surrey BC.
In lieu flowers a donation in John’s name to the Heart or Kidney foundation can be made.
