With heavy hearts, we say goodbye to Jeffery James Jacobs (Jeff), a devoted father, son, brother and friend. Jeff is survived by his parents, Bill and Jeannie Jacobs; his children Clara and Sawyer; his sister, Alison (John); a collection of West Coast family and several longstanding Ontario friends.
Jeff spent his childhood in Belleville, Ontario, with his life-long friends Paul (Greek) Zikopoulos and Joel (Stix) Clayton. He attended Wilfrid Laurier University, where he made another lifelong friend, Curt (Voodoo) Sang. These friendships have carried him through life's ups and downs for four decades.
Jeff left for British Columbia right after university, fell in love with the West Coast, settled in White Rock, and found a collection of friends who have been like a second family and have greatly supported him the last few weeks of his life. Jeff started working for Jim Pattison Lease weeks after arriving in British Columbia and has been with the company for over 30 years.
Jeff found pleasure in the simplest things in life: a Leafs game with his son, a lunch out with his daughter, a family trip or a sushi dinner with friends. He was always armed with a new nickname for a friend (whether they wanted it or not), a joke that was hard to spit out because he was already laughing, and his classic, mischievous side smirk. Fun, adventure and chaos followed Jeff everywhere. He filled any room with jokes and stories (often inappropriate) and his contagious laugh. He was always willing to help a friend in need with a car, a place to stay or a meal.
We are grateful to Jeff for fighting through his failing health to spend more time with us and leave us with more memories. Jeff has left a legacy of precious memories that include inside jokes, nicknames and stories that will keep us laughing and remembering him forever.
