Jeanie “went over the rainbow bridge” (at the age of 87) while at home, exactly as she wished. Born to parents, Mollie and Bill Spurrier, along with her sister Joan, she grew up in the Dunbar area of Vancouver and attended Lord Bing High School.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Lew Nilsson (ten years ago), their long life together was dedicated entirely to family. She was also predeceased by her mother and father, now long ago but always in our hearts.
Jeanie is survived by her five children; Marina Lamb (Rick), Carolyn Clarke (Matthew), John Nilsson (Lisa), Tracey Nilsson (George) and Steve Nilsson (Jennie). She completely cherished her six grandchildren; Kevin, Andrew, Brianna, Karlie, Lincoln and Cooper and her two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Jaxon. Jeanie is also survived by sister Joan, various cousins and their extended families, and numerous dear friends.
We will remember Jeanie as an upbeat, highly intelligent, artistic, music and performing arts loving person. Her favourite passion was to be circled by loved ones, sharing good food and happy conversation. She cared deeply, and was well loved.
A funeral service and reception will be held at the Victory Memorial Park and Funeral Center on Monday, December 9th at noon (optional viewing at 11:30am). Please join us to celebrate Jeanie’s life.
