I cannot believe it has been 2 years already. I guess having the world drastically change around us can have that effect. However, not even a pandemic can make me forget how lucky I am to have such an amazing father. I can still feel his presence around me and find comfort in knowing that he never had to experience what we do now. I got to be by his side when he left, something that many people nowadays must endure from a distance. I know he's proud of me even if he still doesn't understand my passions. He bought me my first drum kit and the rest is history.
I love you Dad and wherever you are, I hope you're still making people smile and laugh as you always had a great talent for. Thank you for everything.

As I  turn on my butterfly memorial lamp I am reminded of life's transformation through the various stages which we do not understand at the time. Thank God for insight and hindsight to help our foresight and support us on our journeys. Blessings to all who shared this trip of a lifetime with Ian and myself. I have many photos and memories to keep the love alive, thank you!

I had the pleasure of working with Ian over the past few years since joining QAi. In all my experience I can say I have never met a person with a much pride as Ian showed towards his work, and this reflected in the quality of his service. He was kind,compassionate and willing to share his vast knowledge.  He was an absolute pleasure to deal with and I will certainly miss him as I know QAi will as well. I want to offer condolences to Ian's family and friends as I know he will be truly missed. 

Ian was a real gentleman and we are so pleased he was part of our life for a many years.  He was talented and always ready to share his talent and offer support to others. Aside from performing with the Vaudevillians we felt Ian was a true friend. Socially he was great fun, always joking and enjoying life. We will miss that wonderful smile.  Rest well Ian. Ian You will be Missed forever in our lives! You brought smiles and happiness, comfort, Joy and Wisdom every time you walked through the front door. We could ask for your help anytime day or night and you were there to lend a helping hand.... You were not only a Brother-In-law ,but a Brother and a best Friend to Will and I,and an Awesome Uncle to our Boys. You were part of my life for 54 years and you will always be in my heart! You brought Great music into our home at every Celebration and that will be greatly missed... But you live on through your Sons Ian jr, and Mike. Rest in Peace Ian up in Heaven with all your loved ones making Great Music!!!!     

Have fond memories of Ian at the A.N.Z.A. Club and participating with him in the Sea Festival Parade.  Ian was a talented musician who will be sorely missed.  Will treasure last visit with Ian and Raywyn during summer of 2018.  Rest In Peace Ian.

A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who supported and shared in the Life Well Celebrated of Ian on Monday.  An overflowing number of people caused a parking problem and held the service up a little but what a great job everyone did bringing all facets of Ian's life  together from history and family to work and play "recreation" as they call it.  We really appreciate having you in our lives since 1976 from ANZA Club days ... as you entered in to our circle of friendship over the years through various functions and activities.  Rev. Terrance O. Shea did a great job bridging traditional and universal realities and philosophies into one also, opening the minds and hearts of many.  Special thanks to Altan for bringing us to attention and speaking from the present, his heart, as Ian joined the "force" ... I could not have said it better. I remember Ian at the Anglo.Indian get togethers, and when he came to sing at Rosewood Manor seniors caregivers home , my mum enjoyed. Always a smile on his face. 

To Raywyn, Mike, Joy and extended family, my thoughts are with you. I was looking forward to seeing Ian and catching up in December 2019 however sadly that will not happen now. You will be missed Ian. God bless RIP Love from Sister in law Judi 🙏🙏

We had a long history of friendship with the Anza Club (Vancouver) activities from 1977 to 1984 when I organized, and he supported, the ethnic/social events plus sports and the Sea Festival Parade in which Ian and his son Michael - our mascot - participated including Anza Players and their Pantomimes.  He was always our token Maori Dancer and we won the Best Float Award in 1983 - Christmas "Downunder".  We lost touch for a few years and re-met after my husband Roy Erickson passed away … they were also friends... and I attended the Can-Orient Boxing Day Dance as his guest.  Circumstances brought us together and the friendship slowly developed until I got laid-off work and was going back to school for Life Skills Coaches Training in Surrey in 1993.  Ian offered me his spare bedroom to save time and travel and money as I lived downtown Vancouver … and the rest is history.   We celebrate 26 years together this October and were married on February 29th 2016 when we also celebrated our life and  friendships as a reunion with 100 guests in May 2016 … Victoria Weekend was another of our anniversaries when we first got together.  Since retiring he enjoyed the Vaudevillian's, Kennedy Choir and Variety Plus entertaining and singing with friends while playing the keyboard at Senior's Care Facilities and Community Centres throughout the lower mainland.  He enjoyed bowling and Golf was his game of choice which he loved and played well.   His smile lives on forever and his light shines brightly for all to enjoy.  Thanks for being our friends. I feel so fortunate to have had such a smart, caring, and talented uncle be a part of my life, all throughout my childhood and into adulthood. Your smile, your jokes, your wisdom, and the music you shared with those around you will always be cherished and remembered. Rest in peace Uncle Ian.

We have very fond memories of Ian.  The good times we shared at The Vaudevillians and music jams together.  God bless you my friend.
