Very late to comment, but I feel compelled to do so. Gordon changed my life completely and set me on a professional course that went way beyond all expectations. I was never his student but he hired me at Laurier in 1978-79 as a researcher for a survey of consumer energy consumption patterns in Canada. His trust, confidence and patient guidance made all the difference. He kept in touch and later visited me in Europe during my subsequent diplomatic career. I'm sure he touched many many lives in similarly profound ways. Learning so belatedly of his early passing makes me profoundly sad. 

Saddened to read of the passing of Professor McDougall. I took his marketing research course in 1980 and it was easily one of the top 3 courses that affected not only my career by how I thought about the world. Often thought of and appreciated him over the years. My condolences to the family - such a loss and so young yet. May the peace of the Lord be with you.
