Fran Passed away quietly and gracefully in the comfort of her home on November 21st, 2020. She is predeceased by her husband Donald McDonald; Brother Edward Justin; Sister June Moes; Mother Catherine Mary Justin (nee: Murphy) and Father William Victor Justin. Lovingly survived by her daughter Theresa "Terry" Marie Watson (Bob); Grandsons Daniel Friel and Harrison Watson; sisters Evelyn Nieman and Kathleen Sawyer; 11 nieces and nephews, plus 4 stepchildren – Phillip, Paul, Karen and Robert.
Fran was born and raised in Steveville, Alberta by Irish parents, Catherine and William Justin. As a young woman, Fran travelled to Victoria to train as a Nurse at the Royal Jubilee Hospital but later changed her course and became a qualified Lab Technologist. She worked as a Lab Technologist for several decades, then made another career change, working for the Red Cross helping people in their homes. Fran really liked to help people, always ready to lend a hand. After the loss of her beloved husband, Fran recreated her life, and for the next 11 years she resided in Scottsdale, Arizona for the winters.
Fran had several special talents. Every year she baked her Christmas Cakes, gifting them to her friends, family and even her doctor. She prided herself on it being a light Christmas cake, and not a dark one.
In her younger years, she also made a delicious plum pudding and liked to flambé it at her Christmas dinner as a special presentation. It was loved by all! She was also famous for her Nintendo skills and could easily relate to her Grandsons about Mario Brothers and Zelda.
Fran was an extraordinary woman, who loved her family. And her family loved her!
Rest in Peace Frankie.
