Evelyn was pre-deceased by her sister Pearl and brothers Bev and Dennis. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Delta Hospital for the attentive care she received there.
Ev was born on a farm in Gray, Saskatchewan. The family moved to Regina in her teen years where she met the love of her life Bill while working in a photo lab. Ev and Bill were married in 1951 and his career as an officer in the Queen’s Own Rifles had them moving around the world until Bill’s retirement from the army while living in Tsawwassen in 1979.
While in Victoria, Ev was elected Mayor of Work Point Barracks for a term. Victoria is also where she started her career as a bookkeeper, and carried on at a CA firm in Tsawwassen. Ev was very involved in the Canadian Payroll Association for many years and thoroughly enjoyed her roles. She also volunteered for many years at the Delta Hospice Thrift Store. Upon retirement, Petra’s was where she met with her many friends daily for coffee. Ev started a family tradition of gathering the clan at OK Falls for 2 weeks every summer for good food, good wine and great memories.
We will forever be grateful for the values of love, generosity and family that Mom and Dad instilled within all of our families.
