David died suddenly and unexpectedly on April 10, 2013. Our beloved husband, brother and son has been taken from us far too soon. David was born on September 13, 1961 in Sheffield, England. He grew up in Dronfield, near Sheffield and graduated from the University of Warwick. After working for the National Health Service in the information technology area he became a consultant with Ernst & Young and made his way to Canada in 1997. After a short time in Edmonton and Saudi Arabia, David chose to make British Columbia his home and recently took the oath to become a Canadian citizen, of which he was terribly proud. David was a Master Mason and a member of Acacia Lodge No. 22 and the Scottish Rite. His joy for living and taking on challenges seemed to know no bounds, and when he set his mind to something he was determined to pursue it. Failure was not a word in his vocabulary, even when he didn’t succeed at something. David seemed to have a special connection with people, and his British humour, wide smile, and mischievous sense of fun won him many friends – and the heart and love of his wife Joanna along with the adoration of his Jack Russell terrier, Archie. Despite a number of health challenges David never let them define him – he was an avid motorcyclist, and had many travels and adventures, and dreamed of many more. David will be deeply missed by his wife Joanna, father John, brother Neil and sister Aimee and his extended family in England and New Zealand. He is predeceased by his mother Joan, sister Kathryne and brother Ian. A Celebration of Life Service for David will be held at Victory Memorial Park Funeral Centre, 14831 – 28th Ave, South Surrey, on Saturday April 20, 2013 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
