Night market had just opened recently and I was walking through with my family. I told my husband about how I worked once here to support myself and my first son. I then thought to myself it has been a long time and I wanted to reach out to Danny and send him a special thank you for that summer that helped me so much. I remembered he had his own relator site and googled his name. Only to realize he is now gone... And my heart is filled with sorrow. I truly wished I was able to tell him and his family what a great man he was and how he impacted my life. I hope to share here and for his children to know what a great man he was and still is somewhere around us. 

I met Danny 7 years ago working for him at the Richmond night market. He had hired me for his Mini Melts stand. I was 16, a single mother just trying to earn money to raise my son and get by. Danny hired me and he was the uttermost caring genuine person I have ever met. I was definitely the crazy teenager swearing constantly...dressed thin and he was like a second father. Teaching me and telling me that it was definitely not lady like and that I was a mother. He was almost as if he was a second father to me that summer. He trusted me with his stand. I some days had to take my son to work since I couldn't afford a sitter and he was always ok with it. Some day he let me off early to go enjoy a bit of myself. If my pay for the weekend was $180 he would always round it up to $200. What a generous man I tell you! 

He was a great husband. I hope he wife reads this somehow. He would tell me stories about how much he loved his wife and his kids. He told me his wife always needed to pack her own pillow cases and bedsheets no matter what hotel they checked into. But he still loved her. Told me daily I should go for a run. Or how he biked 10+ km. He told me his wife was beautiful she was Lebanese? Correct me if I'm wrong my memory is now fading since it's been almost a decade. 

He never got upset with me even though some days I was texting. Just asked me politely to get off the phone. 

Danny I know you're resting in peace and you're in a great place in heaven. In this life time I hope you know you impacted my life in all the most positive and greatest ways. I truly had wished I could have visited you and your family to show you mines now! I'm married two kids who would have thought? I even stopped swearing (occasionally I have to... Can't help myself). 

You are the most caring father, loving husband, greatest boss anyone could ever ask for. That summer was one of the best Sumner's through the worse and hardest teenage mother years I had. But you gave me a job and it was a summer full of laughter as I had money to finally spend with my son. Thank you for everything and I am truly blessed to say I am so thankful that in this life time I was able to meet such a wonderful human being.
