In loving memory of Cheryl who died suddenly and unexpectedly at home on March 29, 2024.
She was pre-deceased by her daughter Lucy and her parents Ken and Anne. She is survived by her husband Michael, her sisters Lynn and Kelly, and her brothers Richard and Stewart.
Cheryl was born in Toronto where she grew up and went to school. After finishing school she moved to Vancouver Island to enjoy the West coast sunsets. In 1976, she had the opportunity to travel in Europe with her sister Lynn, her husband Mervin, and their son Elton. It was on the lovely Greek Island of Crete that she met her future husband Michael, where they spent a magical month together.
They moved together to England where they married, and after a year, moved to Vancouver and then Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. Shortly afterwards, they welcomed their daughter Lucy into the family. Cheryl decided on a career in retail, first working at Eatons and then the Hudson's Bay Company, where she made lifelong friends amongst her colleagues.
Cheryl was a wonderful artist. She enjoyed listening to music and attending live music events. In fact the first gig Cheryl and Michael attended together was an AC/DC show in a small bar overlooking the River Thames in England. The place was rocking!!!
Cheryl and Michael enjoyed the outdoor life together - camping, canoeing and ski-ing. They also liked to travel, visiting Michael's brother Colin and his family in Australia, and his other brother Stephen and his family in Wales.
After retiring Cheryl and Michael decided to downsize and moved to Agassiz, which they planned would be their base from which to continue their travels and adventures.
"47 years was not enough time for me to show all my love for you. There are no goodbyes for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart.” Michael
