Brenda was born in Abbotsford, BC, the second of four children. She was raised there until nine years old, at which time the family moved to Prince George where she spent the rest of her youth. During her childhood she was introduced to the outdoors, including water sports, camping and fishing which she continued to enjoy throughout her life. As a young adult, Brenda moved to Kamloops, which was where her joy of cooking started. She made many friends there and met her future husband, Mark. Brenda and Mark were married in Kamloops in 1985. They moved to Vancouver and on to Delta where they chose to raise their family. She was very involved in the children’s lives, from volunteering at their school, to sporting events, to becoming a Girl Guide leader.
Brenda loved to do things for others. She was also a very creative soul who was an avid reader, loved music, traveling, and crafting. A talented artist, be it painting a wall mural to drawing portraits. Her cooking skills were honed throughout her life with a career as a restaurant chef. She loved to create new dishes and host grand family dinners.
She was full of many ideas which became cherished traditions shared with family and friends. Her sense of fun, disarming demeanor, and happy outlook endeared her to so many. We will remember all this and picture her driving her convertible with the top down, her favorite music blaring, wearing a big smile.
