Surrounded by his family, he joined his Heavenly Father early in the morning, giving way to a beautiful sunrise. Although his life on earth may have been shorter than most, it was lived with exuberance and of great substance. Above all, Abraham remained steadfast in his walk with Christ.
A loving husband, father, son and brother, Abraham is survived and cherished by his beloved wife, Janice, and two children, Madaleine and Timothy. He is also survived by his parents, Joshua and Catherina, in addition to his siblings, Phebe and Isaiah. He was preceded to Heaven by his brother, Timothy, who he now walks arm-in-arm with.
Abraham’s inquisitive nature and sharp intellect frequently led to deep and wide-ranging conversations. He had an unconventional approach to life that was hard to miss, be it in his choice of vehicles or favourite colour (orange). His mechanical inclinations, technological aptitude, and love for outdoor pursuits are reflected in the wide arsenal of tools and gear that he possessed. Everything he owned ‘had a purpose’. His passion for learning new skills and putting them to use for the benefit of others was how he satiated his burning desire to help. A lasting legacy of his, will always be his generosity towards others and the gift of time that he lavished upon them.
For most of his life, Abraham was a strong, independent, and physically capable man. However, it was during his battle with cancer, that it was ever apparent he possessed an indomitable spirit that was securely anchored by his faith. He did not allow cancer to define his existence, but instead, took the opportunity to show us that we can all find peace and joy through hardship, when we trust in the Lord.
